Honeycrisp apples - the legendary crispy variety from the Sobrano v Sadu brand
Do you hear that crunch? It's not frost, it's Honeycrisp. Crispy like ice and sweet like honey! An apple that cannot be forgotten. A taste where crunch and tenderness live in perfect balance.
About the Honeycrisp variety
A refreshing, northern apple with character. Honey - sonorous. The name speaks for itself - honey freshness sealed in a northern fruit. From honey - “honey” and crisp - “crunch”.
Our cool nights and warm days are exactly the conditions that Honeycrisp likes. It ripens slowly, filling with juice and strengthening its character in the gardens, so that by the time of harvest it appears in all its splendor. Lebedyan is the second home of this phenomenon.
History of the Honeycrisp variety
Born in the rough edges of Minnesota. It was only in 1991 that the variety was officially introduced to the market - and since then it has changed the idea of the taste of apples.
The apple, which could have disappeared forever, has become global. In the 70s, a plant with code MN 1711 was already on the culling list - it was believed that it did not produce the required yield. But agronomist David Bedford decided to give the tree a second chance.
The variety was developed in 1960 at the University of Minnesota as part of a program to create apple trees that could withstand the state's frosts. Its ancestors were the Macoun and Honeygold varieties. Breeders were looking for an apple that would remain tender and juicy even under the icy crust of winter - and they found it. The creators of the variety are Jim Luby and David Bedford. The standard of taste in the premium apple segment.

Taste and character of Honeycrisp
The legendary crunchy variety that has taken the world by storm.
Taste
Sweetness with a hint of coolness. Nice and sweet. First there is a bright honey wave, followed by a light frost of sourness, which makes the taste lively and voluminous. This apple is not cloying - it is fresh, like a breath of cold air.
Aroma
Subtle, honey-floral. It seems as if the apple has absorbed the aroma of a warm field, where bees lazily circle between the apple trees.
Crunch
Resonant, clear, as if thin ice is breaking under your feet on a frosty morning. Only Honeycrisp crisps like that. It's not just a sound - it's a signature of the variety. When bitten, the apple literally crackles, as if filled with crystals of freshness.
Texture
Crispy, dense, brittle when bitten. Fragile, but not watery - it perfectly combines density and freshness. Disintegrates in the mouth, leaving a mild honey taste.
Pulp
Creamy, juicy, crispy and grainy.
