Breakfast with Gala apple, yogurt, granola and nut butter

2026-06-30 17:40 Gala

This is a simple, balanced snack or light dessert with a thoughtful balance of textures. This is a format that is convenient to assemble in a few minutes and take with you on the road or to training.

The Gala variety plays a key role here. It has soft, juicy flesh and a natural sweetness without any harsh sourness. When fresh, Gala provides a nice crunch and juiciness that balances out the body of the yogurt and the dry texture of the granola.

Time and calories

  • Cooking time: 7–10 minutes
  • Yield: 1–2 servings
  • Calories: ~380–450 kcal per serving (depending on the amount of granola and nut butter).

Ingredients

  • Berries - 30–50 g
  • Chia or flax seeds - 1 tsp.
  • Cinnamon - a pinch
  • Honey or syrup - 1 tsp. (if you want a sweeter taste)

Preparation

Step 1

  • Wash the Gala apple, dry it and cut it into 1–1.5 cm cubes or thin slices.
  • If serving is delayed, sprinkle lightly with lemon juice.

Step 2

  • Stir the yogurt until smooth so the texture is smooth.
  • If using thick Greek yogurt, you can add 1-2 tsp. water or milk for a softer consistency.

Step 3

  • Half of the yogurt;
  • Granola portion;
  • Half an apple.
  • Repeat layers.
  • Add the nut butter on top - you can warm it slightly for 10-15 seconds to make it more fluid and spread nicely.

Serving and storage

Serve immediately after assembly. For an aesthetically pleasing presentation, use a transparent glass - the layers will be visible, and the texture of the Gala apple will become a visual accent.
